Active.com – Not Just for runDisney Events

0

If you have seen my The Dark Side Half Marathon 2018 article, you know that as a first time runner, I recently participated in a runDisney event. When getting started with this race event runDisney uses a website called Active.com to administration registration for their events. If you want to know more about how to get started see my runDisney – First Time Participant Getting Started article.

First Impression

I have to admit, when I first started using Active.com, I thought that the site was simply an administrative website for the runDisney events. Thus, once I was registered, I never came back to the site and they didn’t bother me either. Not until I was about 3 weeks from the start of the race, did I receive another email that provided more information and explained that I needed to complete some race waivers which brought me back to the Active.com website.

More that a runDisney Extension

Once I got all of my race waivers completed, I started to browse around my account on the Active.com website and realized that Active.com is HUGE! This extension of runDisney is actually it’s own full blown entity and website with lots of additional resources for all kinds of activities. They do a great job at managing your runDisney event, but more than your runDisney events there are lots of events at Active.com.

Walk, Run, Bike and Sports

What do you want to get involved with? Active.com covers it all. You can find information or events related to walking, running, cycling and any number of sports like basketball, baseball and many others.

If you are looking for something to get up and be active, then make sure to check out Active.com.

For me, I was looking for some extra walk/run events that would motivate me to train more than I was and I totally missed the opportunity that Active.com was providing me.

Get Active

Now that I know what the Active.com website can provide I have been browsing and searching for my next event. The best part is that Active.com does a great job at showing events that are close to where I live.

I can always expand my searches, but if I want to walk/run at a race event in my town, Active.com will show me what is happening and how I can get involved.

Active.com is a great resource for finding activities to get up and move. If you are doing a runDisney event and haven’t utilized the Active.com website for its full capabilities, it’s time to get started.
